About your tutor
Hetty van der Sijp is an independent English and Dutch language trainer who takes on assignments from companies, individuals, universities and colleges. She is based in Hengelo, the Netherlands.
Hetty completed her training at Teacher Training College in Delft, the Netherlands, and continued studying at Aberdeen University in Scotland. Over the last 42 years she has gained a wealth of experience teaching languages on a one-to-one basis and to small groups.
Hetty started her teaching career in the UK where she lived for 24 years and as a result her English language skills are of a high standard, allowing her to offer you high quality teaching. While working at various schools and institutes, Hetty explored techniques and methods that turn language learning into an enjoyable, stimulating and creative activity. Her philosophy is that learning another language is most effective when it is an interactive process between the learner and the trainer. She therefore works with a large variety of context based examples and useful exercises to engage the learner and to coach him or her quickly towards using the language independently and in a confident manner.
After her return to the Netherlands in 2005, Hetty established Ennef, offering private English and Dutch language training to businesses and individuals. Due to the small-scale nature of her venture she is able to offer you personal, efficient and affordable training, with great course flexibility and a sharp focus on your learning needs. She is trustworthy, honest and respectful in her dealings with clients and always has your best interests at heart.
Hetty’s lessons are interactive, resourceful and focused entirely on you, the student. And with a bit of luck they will come with a home baked scone or a brownie.
